The 2008 Mazda MX-5 is available in three trim levels

The entry-level GX version comes equipped with 5-speed manual transmission; four-wheel disc brakes; anti-lock brake system; 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels and 205/50R16 performance radial tires; black vinyl soft-folding convertible top; AM/FM/CD player with four speakers and two tweeters; power windows and door locks; fog lights and remote keyless entry with retractable key

 

The mid-range GS trim level adds to this a 6-speed manual transmission; 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with 205/45R17 performance radial tires; a sports tuned suspension; limited slip differential; Dynamic Stability Control with traction control; strut tower bar.

 

Fully loaded, the Mazda MX-5 GT adds to the GS grade a cloth convertible top; Xenon (HID) headlights; air conditioning; Bose® audio system with an in-dash 6 CD changer and seven speakers with AudioPilot® noise compensation technology system; intelligent keyless entry; leather interior; heated seats with seat height adjuster on the driver's seat (GS and GT models only).

 

Included with the Power Retractable Hardtop are: in-board command buttons, indicator light, and safety sensors; chrome finish on headlamp bezel; chrome finish on front grille surround; and chrome finish on outer door handle..

A dynamic and fun-to-drive personality has always been a hallmark of the popular Mazda MX-5. The third generation, introduced for the 2006 model year, improved upon these Zoom-Zoom characteristics with even more power and superior handling. 2008 finds the MX-5 continuing to deliver the driving experience that enthusiasts expect from a lightweight two seater sports car.

 

Based on the acclaimed MZR engine series installed in other Mazda models, the MX-5 engine is front midship mounted and adopts the latest technologies developed to boost power appropriately for a lightweight sports car while supporting environmental compatibility with greater fuel-economy and reduced emissions

Two levels of interior trim are offered: fabric and leather. The fabric interior is an attractive monotone package with black fabric seat upholstery and silver finished accents on the steering wheel, gauge rings, and inner door handles. The black leather interior provides a more elegant, high-tech look; prominent stitching with heavy thread enhances the appearance of the soft trim. There is also an alternative saddle-tan leather with the feel of expensive footwear, horse saddles, and designer luggage. Areas of the dash and doors are finished with two-tone black and saddle trim. Silver finished accents are provided for the door handles, door assist grips, and speaker rings.
